| Tanger Outlet Center Mall - Tuesday, September 06, 2011 The ground breaking ceremony for the Texas City Simon Tanger Factory Outlet Center was held August 30th. Steven Tanger, president and CEO of Tanger Factory Outlet Centers and John Klein, president of Simon Premium Outlets, attended the ceremony. The facility will include 350,000 square feet in first phase of the project. It is located on 55 acres, west of Interstate 45 and south of Holland Road. Phase one will include 90 stores and is expected to be a major draw to the local area. It will be similar to the mall located in San Marcos, Texas. The Outlet is expected to generate $8 million in yearly sales tax revenue, create 400 construction jobs, 900 full and part time retail and management positions and be as successful as the San Marcus centers. |
